Process of becoming a REALTOR®

1. Obtain Phase I:
Real Estate as a Professional Career from the
Saskatchewan Real Estate Association.

Course includes two (2) manuals and encyclopedia. Enrollment period is 12 months.
Fee is $950.00 + $57.00
GST = $1006.00

2. Obtain Phase II:
Residential Real Estate as a Professional Career or other specialty course:

Enrollment period is six (6) months from completion of Phase I.
Fee is $503.50

Note: If you have a criminal record, please contact the Saskatchewan Real Estate Commission at (306) 374-5233 prior to enrolling in the Real Estate as a Professional Career course. Proof of a high school diploma in Canada, or an equivalent, is required.

3. After completing Phase I and Phase II:

All individuals making an initial application to the Saskatchewan Real Estate Commission must provide the Commission with a Criminal Record check by fingerprint comparison with their application for registration. For Criminal Record check, pick up form at Police Station. Fee is $25.00 to check database and $25.00 for fingerprinting. The $25.00 cheque for fingerprinting, fingerprints and form are then to be mailed to Ottawa. Exams for Saskatoon are held on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month, except holidays and in December. Broker sponsorship is not required to complete Phase I and Phase II education.

4. Upon successfully completing Phase I and Phase II:

An individual must submit an application for registration to the Saskatchewan Real Estate Commission within six (6) months. Broker sponsorship is required. The Saskatchewan Real Estate Commission is located at:

The registrant is now eligible for membership in the Saskatoon Region Association of REALTORS®.

NOTE: A provisional membership is granted in the SRAR pending completion of the Association's "New Member Course" which is held four (4) times per year.

Failing to attend or successfully complete the next available "New Member Course" may result in a license suspension until the requirement is met. Course duration is mornings only for two (2) weeks. Fee for exam is $576.45. (Payment must be postdated one (1) week prior to. Broker sponsorship is required.) A $100.00 Active Key deposit must also be paid.

7. Continuing Professional Development:
